Heather Palacios, MPA, is the Vice President of Community Relations & Strategic Partnerships at Planned Parenthood Great Plains (PPGP). She supervises philanthropy, and marketing/communications efforts over the four-state affiliate, covering AR, KS, MO, and OK. Prior to her onboarding at PPGP earlier this year, Heather served as the Executive Director of Coretz Family Foundation, a private, place-based foundation in Tulsa, OK. Heather is a native of Tulsa, and a graduate of Edison High School. She obtained her Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from The University of Tulsa in 1998, and spent her early career in academic publishing, based in Boston, MA. Her nonprofit career began in 2008 when she moved back to Tulsa and assumed a role as Director of Alumni Relations for TU College of Law, where she honed her skills in development and external relations. Heather joined the Coretz Family Foundation in 2017 and as executive director, steered the mission’s philanthropic focus around racial and social justice in Tulsa. She has served on various boards over the years, including Tulsa Foundation for Architecture, Metropolitan Tulsa Urban League, and YWCA of Tulsa. She chaired the foundations division for the Tulsa Area United Way annual campaign in 2019 and 2020, and has been an active member of Tulsa Community Foundation’s Funders Roundtable. Heather completed her Master’s in Public Administration at OU-Tulsa with an emphasis on public policy and a certificate in nonprofit management. Her new role at PPGP allows her to continue making a positive impact around racial and gender equity through her professional endeavors. Heather lives in midtown, Tulsa with her four-year old son, Benicio (“Beni”).
